    My Own Shields

I also had to build shields. Some are clear, some are not; in Second Life, I
use different avatars to shield myself from unwanted propositions. If I look
like I normally do, like a voluptuous woman, I usually get all kinds of
propositions, even when I don’t want to engage romantically. I got myself an
avatar that is less suggestive –a shield. It has worked so far. When I wear it,
I’m not approached to go on dates. The last time I was a woman, I was asked for
a walk in the forest and to spend time near a waterfall. Then I was asked to
cuddle and kiss. I did. After some time, Curtis –I will call him Curtis – was
interested in getting to know me, and I was open to share all I could. Then the
conversation became very personal. I revealed myself, and since then, no more
dates with Curtis for me. Here is how the exchange went:

me: so now, what other things about my RL do u want to know

me: dont u think there's so much to know about each other that we dont know

    Curtis: loads!

    Curtis: ask whatever u want

Curtis: ur a woman u must have hundreds of questions lol

Curtis: come on stop typing then deleting lol

me: i do...do all women ask lots of questions

Curtis: of course its in their nature lol

me: so, what is it that u like about women then? besides the obvious of course

Curtis: lol thats gotta be the hardest question ever!

Curtis: theres lots to like and lots not to like, but at the end of the day we
all need companionship, wether ur straight or gay, in my case im straight so its
    a woman

me: do u know gay people?

Curtis: no gays in my circle of friends at the moment but have known plenty,
    huge gay community in london

me: of course, what a dumb question

me: i love this song..i think this is so romantic

Curtis: surprised u know it, didnt realise paul young made it in the us

me: of course...are we listening the same tune "every time u go away"

    Curtis: yes, paul young

Curtis: he had green hair when he did this, no idea why i remember that lol

me: so, how would u feel about dating a transexual woman

Curtis: never really given it much thought, u r transexual?

    me: not really

Curtis: not really? yes or no r the only possible answers lol

me: well, remember when we met, and I told u I was studying behaviors in SL

    Curtis: yes

me: so, i am trying to see how people react to transexuals

Curtis: an old mate of mine lived with one for years, we wasnt supposed to know
but did, so i dont find them shocking and want to run away lol

Curtis: on the other hand i wouldnt see any future with one personally so
    wouldnt get involved

me: because, you think that they are not really like a woman

    me: whats different

Curtis: diff as in they have no womb and cant ovulate or have kids

me: so, whats more important for u is to have children

Curtis: not sure i do personally, but would like the option, im not getting any
    younger!

    me: couldnt u adopt?

Curtis: true, but its still diff from a woman who was born a woman but cant have
    kids for medical reasons

me: yes, i guess u want to have ur own kids

    me: i mean ur genes…

Curtis: i would prefer that, but would never rule out adoption if my future mrs
couldnt have them, or if i cant, ive never tried!

Second Life is a Post-Gender environment

I've actually spent some of my life in some very progressive spaces, and I
must say that some communities - extremely liberal college campuses (Antioch and
Evergreen spring to mind), the Vancouver BC and San Francisco queer and "fetish"
communities, and a few odd pockets here and there, have made the jump to what I
    would call "Post-Gender".

It's not to say that Gender isn't important in these spaces, it clearly is,
mostly because we're sexual people, and because we have preferences about what
genders we're attracted to and which we "associate" with. The big difference is
that these environments run (mostly - we ARE made of individuals after all, and
no utopia is universally perfect) without the assumptions of gender based on
birth/physical characteristics. This is harder than you'd imagine in RL, but it
is possible to take the time to talk, and listen, and pick up on the cues of
someone's current Gender Identity rather than simply scanning some physical
    characteristics.

It's not unlike joining a roleplay community in SL, where the rules of exchange
dictate that your RP character cannot automatically know anything about people
whom you meet - including the person's name that's floating in glowing
characters over their head. You have to engage and learn based on how they
    interchange with you.

In fact, it's a *lot* like SL RP in that way, because a person's identity can be
just as fluid in RL, and you might be talking to Fae as Femme one day, and
Butchy Fae the next day, even though it's the same person, or an Angel one day,
    and a Demon the next.

So the really interesting jump, to me, is that SL imposes a direct filter in
your interactions - you're facing an Avatar, and not seeing the person's RL
Gender, Race, Age, (dis)Ability, or other factors that normally in RL society
provide the cues as to how we're "supposed" to treat them.

The beautiful thing about this filter is that it
    removes the tools of prejudice
in immediate 1st-time interactions. If you
cannot see someone's gender, race, age, or other factor during your 1st meeting,
you must evaluate them based on the core person that they present, that is to
say, the core person as that person defines it,
    not you the viewer
    . I call this
core person their Identity, the one that
they own and define as they choose, to differentiate from your preconceptions of
    it.

Some people find this filter, or even the concept of it, to be deeply offensive,
because they're not "seeing the real person" - and precisely for this reason I
point out that they don't need to know these preconcepts, they're striving to
reach for their RL prejudices, and they need to learn to rise above them. Even
though we politically and socially agree that prejudice in housing, employment,
social organizations, healthcare is abhorrent, it clearly still happens
constantly. This is because it's near-impossible for our society to overcome
these assumptions we have about women, and racial minorities, and our older
members, and "put them in their place". Feminism has been a strong and active
force for half a century, but yet we've made no
significant progress in salary equality in the past 20 years. Racism has too
many clear examples to even begin the list.

Second Life pushes us past these filters, and allows people to meet and talk, on
truly level ground, for the first time in many ways. Let's not let our
prejudices creep back into the equation. Hold firm that we are all strong
people, regardless of our RL bodies, and let's show what new types of open,
richly diverse, and stronger societies we can build if we truly are listening to
each other's True Identity rather than
the physical masks we're forced to wear.

What does being Transgender in Second Life Mean?

Transgender is such an overloaded term, and interpreted by many people in so
many different ways, that it's worth an investment of time to explain what I
mean by the term "Transgender in Second Life".

    First, let us examine what
    wikipedia
has to say on the topic. "Transgender is the state of one's "gender
    identity
    " (self-identification as
male, female, both or neither) not matching one's "assigned gender" (identification
    by others
as male or female based on physical/genetic
    sex
). Transgender does not imply any specific form of

    sexual orientation
    " (Bold and Italic highlights
    added by myself)

To clarify - Gender Identity "describes the
    gender with
which a person identifies (i.e, whether one perceives oneself to be a man, a
woman, or describes oneself in some less
    conventional way
    )".

Put simply, to feel or express oneself *in any way* - dress, mannerisms, up
through physical body modifications, other than what is expected by society
based on one's birth gender, is Transgender. Transgender is an
inclusive term that covers a very broad
set of subcategories, from Crossdressers, Transvestites, Drag Queens,
Genderqueer, Transsexual, and a million shades of grey in between. It is not a
term reserved solely for people who have such strong needs to change their body
that they go through Hormone Replacement Therapy and Sexual Reassignment
    Surgery.

Note: expressing oneself as Transgender *in any way* in our First Lives takes
incredible bravery, or desperation, or both. Generally,
only someone who cannot live without it
will go through it, because of the massive public revulsion, ignorance, fear,
and hatred associated with this massively misunderstood category of people.
    Transgender people are regularly
    disowned
from their families or had their children removed from their homes
    ,
    fired from
    their jobs
    , refused
    housing
    ,
    refused medical treatment
    ,

    physically abused
    , and
    tortured and killed
with no notice or care from the public or authorities.
The struggles for basic Human Rights, much less acceptance and understanding,
have not progressed very far even in these supposedly very liberal times. In the
    United States, only 10
states include language inclusive of Gender Identity in Hate Crimes legislation
    .
    Only 5 States
include Gender Identity in anti-discrimination legislation. Because of this, an
incredible majority of people who are driven to express themselves as another
gender are forced to completely hide their needs or desires for fear of any and
all of these repercussions. We are usually referred to as imposters or posers or
liars. In the best case, we are
ridiculed and made the subject of humiliating and dehumanizing jokes. In the
worst cases, we are killed and tossed aside by an uncaring public.

Enter Second Life. Suddenly, an incredibly high number of people who otherwise
would never consider expressing themselves as the opposite gender suddenly have
been provided a safe, anonymous, healthy way to meet this desire- or in many
cases- need, that they never would have
otherwise safely had. Now, with the entrance of voice, and now identity
verification, the potential for public exposure and outing of one's Second Life
    gender identity (freely self-chosen) and
having it associated with one's "assigned gender" (society's expectations of us)
becomes an incredibly high risk. For anyone that is frightened by this, or would
choose to hide closeted again, or lie and feel ashamed again, this is not a joke
or a subject to be taken lightly. Families, careers, and lives are at stake
    here.

Because of the negative connotations of the Transgender term, the vast majority
of people that I would include in my definition of TGs in SL would absolutely
deny that they are part of that category- and that is their perogative, as
Gender Identity is *SELF* chosen. And absolutely NO ONE ELSE can define for you
whether you are "really transgender" or not- the very thought is ludicrous, as
there is no test for transgenderism, and no one can actually read your mind and
know your heart's hidden desires. I would simply point out that these are real
people expressing themselves in real ways with real (though digital) identities
that are critically important to them, and that the Transgender definition and
community certainly includes all of them, if they so choose. One does not have
to actually physically crossdress, or be public about your feelings, or go
through the costs and perils of transsexualism to be a part of this community.

If you or someone you know or love is facing this fear, there are groups of us
out here looking out for you and will happily join you in solidarity and
support. You can continue to enjoy your Second Life in anonymous privacy and
still join private support organizations and gain understanding and a willing
ear - and when needed, a shoulder to cry on. There is a HUGE diversity in this
community, and all of us have different stories and background. The vast
majority of the TG community that I know is completely closeted in First Life
and would never even consider admitting their desires or needs- for precisely
the reasons I outlined above. I and my friends understand this, and I aim to be
public enough to have more people understand and end the humiliation and abuse,
and to continue to help all of you.

    Love,

    -Cala

    10/08/2008

[13:19]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: It is with great
pleasure that we gather today to witness the joining of two hands, and two
hearts as Mistress and submissive. These two people, Mistress JoanneLynn
Dreamscape and Alley Gotter, have fallen in love so deeply, so completely, that
today, they make a bond, a sacred covenant, whereby their hearts, their bodies,
and their souls shall be united as Mistress and submissive for the rest of their
    days.

    [13:19]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: JoanneLynn Dreamscape
and Alley Gotter’s respective friends, each represent a circle of love. A circle
of love where members care for, and nurture each other, in times of joy and in
times of sorrow. Today, they join their lives together to make a new circle of
love, one that overlaps with, and is made stronger by those from which it has
emerged. You have been invited here because of their special relationship with
you, to witness the creation of this sacred bond.

[13:20]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: I have not known
JoanneLynn and Alley long, yet it should be clear to any the levels of love and
devotion that exist between them. They have asked to take the next step, to
bring this relationship to its inevitable conclusion.

[13:21]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: Both realize where
they are going, and know that a collar is not something to be taken lightly.
They have come to this day through trust, honesty, and integrity, and from this
day on, will be bound together for all time.

[13:22]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: I would like to share
with you a short reading from "The Art of Marriage", in which hte author wisely
    states...

[13:22]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: In the relationship,
the little things are the big things.

It is never being too old to hold hands.

It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once each
    day,

It is never going to sleep angry.

It is having a mutual sense of values and objectives.

It is standing together and facing the world.

It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole
    family.

It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating
    gratitude in thoughtful ways.

It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.

It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each person
    can grow.

It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.

It is not only collaring the right person

It is being the right partner.

[13:23]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: The covenant of
collaring is one that can be entered into only by persons who are both
spiritually free to offer themselves to each other. Therefore, in the presence
of all the witnesses here, I will ask JoanneLynn and Alley to state their
intention. JoanneLynn and Alley, have you come here freely and without
reservation to give yourselves to each other?

[13:23]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: yes I have

[13:24]  Allley Gotter: yes i have

[13:24]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: Is there anyone who
wants to say anything, to tell JoanneLynn why he should accept Alley's offer?

[13:25]  Stazja Kirax: Joanna and ally I am so honored
to be a part of this most wonderful day! Ive seen the both of Y/you and the love
Y/you both share for one another and it is the most beautiful of relationships!
Ive seen the love you ally show your beautiful Mistress and how You Joanna shine
because of how proud You are of her.the tow of Y/you bring out each others
    strenghts

[13:26]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: aww thanks Stazzy

[13:26]  Stazja Kirax: I am so glad Yyou have each
other and I wish Yyou both all the love and best from here to etertiny

    [13:27]  Allley Gotter smiles

[13:27]  Stazja Kirax: love Y/you both dearly

[13:27]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: Is there anyone else
gathered here today that would like to take this opportunity to speak further
    about this couple?

[13:28]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: JoanneLynn and Alley,
please face each other and join your hands, and in so doing, join your hearts.

    [13:30]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: JoanneLynn, please
    repeat after me:

I, JoanneLynn Dreamscape, take you Allley Gotter, to be my
    loyal and loving submissive,

to have and to hold, to love and to cherish,

for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer,

    in sickness and in health,

from this day forward, until death do us part.

    [13:30]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: I, JoanneLynn
Dreamscape, take you Allley Gotter, to be my loyal and loving submissive,

to have and to hold, to love and to cherish,

for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer,

    in sickness and in health,

from this day forward, until death do us part.

[13:30]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: Alley. please repeat
    after me:

I, Allley Gotter, take you JoanneLynn Dreamscape, to be my
    loyal and loving Mistress,

to have and to hold, to love and to cherish,

for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer,

    in sickness and in health,

from this day forward, until death do us part.

[13:32]  Allley Gotter: I, Allley Gotter, take you
JoanneLynn Dreamscape, to be my loyal and loving Mistress, to have and to hold,
to love and to cherish, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in
sickness and in health, from this day forward.

[13:33]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: Divine Spirit, bless
this collar and leash that JoanneLynn and Alley are about to exchange. May this
collar and leash forever remind them of their covenant with one another, as well
as the circle of love they have publicly created here today. May their
compassion and kindness for one another always be like this collar, with no
beginning and no end. May their relationship always be like this leash, binding
the one to the other, separate but close, simple but beautiful, and may their
love always belong in each other’s hearts.

[13:34]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: Alley, please look
into JoanneLynn’s eyes, and present her with this leash, and repeat after me,
“With this leash, this girl offers thee her servitude and love for all her
    days”.

[13:35]  Allley Gotter: “With this leash, this girl
offers thee her servitude and love for all her days”

[13:36]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: At this time, Alley,
please recite your vows to your Mistress.

[13:36]  Allley Gotter: Beloved Mistress JoanneLynn,
On this day, i offer you my Heart, Mind, Body, and Spirit.

[13:37]  Allley Gotter: I Vow: To be completely Honest
and Faithful with you, Keeping Nothing from you.

[13:37]  Allley Gotter: To bring Honor to You. To Obey
you completely in All Maters. I will Proudly and publicy wear your collar for as
long as you desire to keep me as your own. in this world and the next.

[13:38]  Allley Gotter: i do so freely and without
    reservation, or restriction

[13:39]  Allley Gotter: i love you Mistress JoanneLynn

    [13:39]  G0 Oh sniffles

    [13:40]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: JoanneLynn, please
look into the eyes of your beloved, and place this collar, a symbol of your love
for Alley Gotter upon her neck, and recite your vows to her.

[13:40]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: With the placing of
this collar around your neck and your acceptance thereof, I vow to do everything
I can to be worthy of you, and your love, and service to me.

[13:41]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: I promise to hold you
and keep you safe, to stretch you and give you flight, to respect the needs of
our relationship above all others, to love you, honor you, support you in all
things and be sensitive to your needs and desires all underpinned by the respect
that I have for you and the deep and joyful knowledge that with you two halves
    are made whole.

[13:41]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: I acknowledge the
trust you have placed in me and the responsibility that goes with my acceptance
of that trust. I will never violate or even threaten to violate that trust.

I will continue to abide by SSC- and what we already have
    established.

[13:41]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: I will endeavour to be
open minded enough to learn new things. Strong enough to grow. In times of
trouble, to be a supportive friend and partner, never forgetting that this is
still a loving relationship between two caring people.

[13:42]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: I acknowledge and
accept with all my heart the gift of submission you have made to me. The collar
itself is a symbol of that which we already know... that you are mine and by
it's wearing you are safe to be everything that you are

[13:42]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: Do you accept this
symbol in the spirit by which it is given you?

    [13:42]  Allley Gotter: Yes, Happily.

    [13:42]  Allley Gotter: i do

[13:43]  JoanneLynn Dreamscape: it it with great honor
    that i lock your collar

    [13:44]  G0 Oh sobs happily

    [13:44]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: JoanneLynn Dreamscape
    and Alley Gotter,

with the support of your families and friends,

by the vows you have made to one another,

by the strength of your covenant,

and in the presence of the Divine Spirit,

it is my pleasure to pronounce you “Mistress and
    submissive.”

You may seal your union with a kiss.

    [13:45]  Allley Gotter: agkiss joannelynn

[13:45]  Allley's collar: Allley gives JoanneLynn
    Dreamscape a big kiss.

[13:45]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: We will close with a
    final blessing for your union:

[13:46]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: Now you will feel no
    rain,

For each of you will be shelter to the other.

Now you will feel no cold,

For each of you will be warmth to the other.

Now there is no more loneliness,

For each of you will be companion to the other.

    Now you are two bodies,

But there is only one life before you.

Go now to your dwelling place,

To enter into the days of your togetherness.

And may your days be good and long upon the earth.

[13:47]  Anputeti Blabbermouth: Ladies and gentleman,
it is my great honor and privilege to present to you for the very first time,
Mistress JoanneLynn Dreamscape and her girl Alley Gotter!

[13:47]  Pearlita Noel applauses : Congrats girls!!!

    Leonard Peltier (born

    is a

    Native American
    activist and member of the

    American Indian Movement
. In 1977 he was convicted and sentenced to two
consecutive terms of life imprisonment for the murder of two
    FBI
Agents who died during a 1975 shoot-out on the

    Pine Ridge Indian Reservation
. There has been considerable debate over
Peltier’s guilt and the fairness of his trial. Some supporters and
    organizations, including

    Amnesty International
, consider him to be a

    political prisoner
    .[1]

    Amnesty International
said, for example, that "Although he has not been
adopted as a prisoner of conscience, there is concern about the fairness of the
proceedings leading to his conviction and it is believed that political factors
may have influenced the way the case was prosecuted."

    [2]
Numerous lawsuits have been filed on his behalf but none has
succeeded. Peltier is currently incarcerated at the United States penitentiary

Equality Through Intimidation? The Houston HRC Dinner Protest

    From Transadvocate:

Equality Through Intimidation? The Houston HRC Dinner Protest

I just received this from Phyllis Frye:

By calling the Houston Police, national HRC deliberately set
in motion a police over response. HRC used government and taxpayer monies to
intimidate the hell out of TG and gender variant people who drove in to
    participate, but were scared away.

I hope the Advocate or Blade or Voice do a freedom of
information act request to determine how much money was used to cover the HRC
“false alarm.” I think the City of Houston should bill National HRC for the
    knowing “false alarm.”

Only 11 folks were brave enough to show when driving in and
seeing the police riot set up that HRC had triggered. Three were from out of
town. A threat, we were not! THERE WERE NO INCIDENTS.

The tenor I’ve heard from other national GLBT leaders (including some leading
Executive Directors) is that Phyllis Frye is either mistaken or dishonest in her
belief that HRC is trying to intimidate transgender people. I’ve been told that
it is S.O.P. (standard operating procedure) when there is a protest of an HRC
dinner that the police are called by the local HRC that hosts the event. That
being said, do you think that this is an appropriate response to 11
    transactivists?

    </a>

I’ve organized or co-organized many a protest (see my about page for a list)
and we’ve never had more than a few officers. We always alerted the ACLU and
    they sent monitors:

    alt

At our “Rally at the State House” in Indianapolis we had almost 1000 people,
yet didn’t have six mounted police officers.

If HRC is trying to mend fences or wants to bring transgender people back
into the fold, intimidation is not going to help do that. It only reinforces the
idea that we are pawns, to be moved and ordered as the HRC wills us to.

    WKJCE TLGB RADIO Updates
    WKJCE TLGB RADIO Updates

WKJCE moved into our new studio and verizon told us the broadband would be ready the next day...
Tuesday and that the phones would be transfered on the same day
Well close to midnight we broke down the old studio and moved everything over just to find out that the broadband wasn’t ready as promised ad when we called they said it wouldn’t be ready until April 2nd -sigh
So we called our local cable company.. And Alanna was pricing their highest speed access and asked about running servers and they said we can make exceptions depending on the server,
so she told them that her other half runs an online radio station, and they said it wouldn’t be a problem..
Se asked how soon could it be ready, and they said in two days,
So she ordered comcasts high speed internet...
than after we went over the budget and knowing that donations for the station is down, we figured we couldn’t afford it at this time, so she had to cancel =sigh
and we stuck with verizon business DSL, knowing that we wouldn’t be back online until April 2nd
However this morning Friday March 28th We were lying in bed and Alanna’s computer said the virus database has been updated.. and the first thing that came to mind was it takes internet service to update the avast anti virus databases, So we made a mad dash to the computer/studio room and sure enough we are back online - :)

We still have some minor work to do like connecting mixing boards and etc, but its nothing that cant be done while the station is running

but thats whats been going on here
We would like to apologize to all of our syndicated radio shows who broadcast on WKJCE TLGB RADIO for the inconvenience this may have caused.

    hugs

My reasons for supporting Hillary Clinton (thks Lovari)

My reasons for supporting Hillary Clinton:

We are living through a milestone of history. We have three candidates on board for the possibility of winning the presidential election - the first ever African American, the first ever woman, and the oldest candidate to ever run. While there are several factors that I agree upon with each of them, I feel that the one that stands out in the forefront is Hillary Rodham Clinton. As April nears, there will be more states that will vote to decide which democrat will have a chance to run in November's presidential election .It has been a rollercoaster of victories and losses in various states for both parties, but it seems the general mindset falls more into favor with Barrack Obama. Before I divulge the reasons why I am choosing to endorse Hillary Clinton, I want to ask the following questions about Mr.

    Barrack Obama:

    1) Have you ever noticed that he never answers a question directly? For example, on one debate, he was asked about his views on taxes, and he replied with an answer about education. Another time, he was asked how does he feel about gay rights and he answered, "I don't think that we can compare the struggle of the black man in the past to the current struggle of gay rights.

While you may or may not agree with that statement, it still didn't answer the original question asked - "How do you FEEL about gay rights?" Have you also noticed that the majority of his answers end with the same slogan about how it is "time for a change"? Well, how about changing within yourself and learning how to directly answer questions asked to you instead of going into different topics and avoiding the original query?

    2) Alot of people have strongly praised Mr. Obama for his "historical making speeches". While some of his statements within these siloquoys have impressed me, it does not necessarily mean that he can facilitate what he says into action. I've been told by my fellow peers, teachers, and ex-lovers that I have written some of the most profound letters. Most of the magazines and newspapers that have featured stories about me were because of the eloquence in my cover letters that I wrote to them asking to check out my music or performances. However, does this mean that I am some sort of hierarchal genius? No. At best, I was a B Minus student in high school/college. While that is still commending, it doesn't mean that I am a scholar. So when Barrack delivers these supposed "tour de forces", it doesn't necessarily mean that he can actually follow through on them.

    3) I hate the idea of war. I strongly feel that sending troops into Iraq by our current president was to avenge Sadam Hussein for escaping execution when George Bush Sr. was in office. I also don't udnerstand that if Al Quaida/Osama Bin Laden took responsibility for 9/11, then how are you going to go invade another country instead? For example, if Joe Schmoe stole money from you and you go to the cops and they arrest Joe Schmoe's neighbor instead because they couldn't find Joe Schmoe. But what did his neighbor have to do with it? Absolutely nothing. However, I feel that if we immediately pull our troops out of Iraq, as Mr. Obama wants to do, that things will get even worse. You can't just expect an entire country who has recently been democratized (forcefully) to do it themselves without the aid of somebody else. So as much as I despise war and the threats that our American troops face everyday, I think that the worse thing to do would be to immediately pull out our armed forces, because then ultimately the situation in Iraq would become worse. Why does Mr.

Obama feel that this is a good idea? Wishful thinking perhaps?

    4) Aside from alot of Obama's supporters that say their reasons for endorsing him are because they feel that it is "time for a change", did you also know the following? :

    a) Some of Barrack's supporters have admitted that they find him charming and attractive, and this is why he is getting their vote.

    b) Some are voting for him just because he is half African American.

    c) Some are voting for him because he is younger than the other candidates.

None of those reasons have anything to do with the role/responsibility of being a president.

I ask you these questions: Did we let the preppy murderer Robert Chambers free because he was good looking? Did we let the DC Snipers free because they were black? Did we not arrest drug dealers that are over 30 but leave the younger ones alone because of their age? Of course not! So why would we use these reasons to choose our president?

    5) Why was Mr. Obama and his supporters offended at the commercial that Hillary Clinton launched about who would you want to answer the phone at the White House during a crisis at 3 AM while your child is asleep? Can somebody honestly tell me why were people offended by that commercial? It is the truth! We are not living in Disneyland. Horrible situations with the world have occurred in the middle of the night while our loved ones/children have been asleep, and yes, I would rather somebody with experience to be on the other end on the phone if a crisis did occur rather than a person who incorporates alot of wishful thinking.

In closing, my reasons for supporting Hillary Clinton are simple. She already served in the White House as First Lady under her husband's presidency and therefore has insider experience. She was the senator of New York state. Mr. Obama was also senator of his state, but a little known fact is that his position required him to serve less than 180 working days, as opposed to Clinton's term which was year round, including holidays. Hillary's political experience and work exceeds Barrack Obama's by more than a decade. Lastly, Hillary always answers a question directly. I need to be secure knowing the president we have in the state of the world today will be an assured one who takes decisive action based on fact and experience, rather than on wishful thinking and unsure change.

Some will agree with what I have to say and others won't. There are no right or wrong answers. I have simply stated facts. The most important thing is that no matter who you choose - please vote! It is a freedom that cannot be taken for granted.

    cdbaby. com/cd/lovari

In addition, here are some startling revelations about Mr. Barrack Obama's campaign basically plagiarizing another candidate's speeches.

Thanks to Wayne (AguynamedWaynesWorld) for this!

Deval Patrick who was elected on a campaign theme of "Hope" and "Change" - the very theme that Senator Obama has adopted as his own (as well as plagiarizing Mr. Patrick's speeches word for word) - is proving to be a cautionary tale for the American voters. Obama has mirrored Deval Patrick's election to a "T". The problem is that just like Obama, Deval Patrick had little to no experience. And that has proven to be a huge problem for him as Governor. The promise of "Change" that he campaigned on has been woefully absent, and the citizens of Massachusetts have now lost "Hope" that Mr. Patrick's promises were anything other than just words. In fact, they learned their lesson so well, that even though Gov. Patrick and Senator John Kerry and Senator Ted Kennedy all enthusiastically endorsed Senator Obama during the states primary, the voters decided they had heard enough of false promises and voted overwhelmingly for Senator Hillary Clinton instead. The voters of America should heed the lesson that the citizens of Massachusetts had to learn the hard way. Empty promises of Hope and Change will not solve the problems facing our country.

Joanne's Note: Lovari is one of the Artists we play on WKJCE TLGB RADIO, and are very pleased to see some of our artists speak their minds about Obama,  While WKJCE cant officially endorse a candidate due to its Non profit status.
WKJCE airs  shows about Obama and
Hillary Clinton since we don't censor our syndicated radio hosts, and to date 3 different shows always talk about how Obama is great,
Personally Alanna and I do disagree and would like to see a few radio hosts talk about their support for Hillary Clinton, after all how can the media be balanced if everyone's on one side ??
    Just my two cents

U.S. soldiers pressured to adopt Christian beliefs

    Religious freedom in military questioned

By JOHN MILBURN, Associated Press Writer
Tue Dec 18, 8:36 PM ET

A foundation that has sued the military alleging widespread violations of religious freedom said Tuesday that it has evidence showing that soldiers are pressured to adopt fundamentalist Christian beliefs.

The photos and videos of religious materials and activities are part of a lawsuit filed by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation and Army Spc. Jeremy Hall, an atheist, against Maj. Freddy J. Welborn and Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

The material was gathered from Fort Riley in Kansas, the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Fort Jackson, S.C.

Examples at Fort Riley, where Hall is stationed, included a display outside his military police battalion's office with a quote from conservative writer Ann Coulter saying, "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."

Another photo from Fort Riley shows the book "A Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam" for sale at the post exchange.

"These astonishing and saddening evidence which our foundation is making public today only further buttress our lawsuit," said Mike Weinstein, an attorney in Albuquerque, N.M., and president of the foundation, who graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1977.

Fort Riley spokesman Maj. Nathan Bond said the matter was being referred to post commanders for investigation. He said it is the Army's policy to accommodate all religious beliefs to the extent that they don't conflict with military missions.

"We do take this seriously," he said. If they are true, he added, they "do not seem in line with the Army values of respect."

The lawsuit filed in federal court in Kansas City, Kan., in September alleges that Welborn threatened to file military charges against Hall and to block his re-enlistment for trying to hold a meeting of atheists and non-Christians in Iraq.

Hall is with the 97th Military Police Battalion out of Fort Riley. He was serving his second tour in Iraq and has since returned to the U.S.

Weinstein said materials for a Bible studies course from Military Ministry, part of Campus Crusade for Christ International, teach soldiers that the U.S. military and government are instruments to spread the word of God. The material was found at Fort Jackson, S.C., he said.

A spokeswoman for Campus Crusade for Christ said ministry officials hadn't had a chance to review the evidence and declined to comment.

The lawsuit also alleges that Gates permits a military culture in which officers are encouraged to pressure soldiers to adopt and espouse fundamentalist Christian beliefs, and allows a culture that sanctions activities by Christian organizations.

It also says the military permits proselytizing by soldiers, tolerates anti-Semitism and the placing of religious symbols on military equipment, and allows the use of military e-mail accounts to send religious rhetoric.

The Pentagon has said that the military values and respects religious freedoms but that accommodating religious practices should not interfere with unit cohesion, readiness, standards or discipline.

Weinstein has previously sued the Air Force for acts he said illegally imposed Christianity on its students at the academy. A federal judge threw out that lawsuit in 2006.

    Congress drops hate crimes bill

    Congress drops hate crimes bill

By ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press WriterThu Dec 6, 5:23 PM ET

Congress has dropped legislation that would have expanded laws against hate crimes to include attacks on gays after it became clear the measure wouldn't pass the House, aides said Thursday.

The bill, sponsored by Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., was widely supported by Democrats and some moderate Senate Republicans. But because it was attached to a major defense policy bill that would have authorized more money for the Iraq war, many anti-war Democrats said they would oppose it.

"We don't have the votes," said one House Democratic aide, who spoke on condition of anonymity because conference negotiations on the defense bill were ongoing. "We're about 40 votes short, not four or six."

The development is a blow to civil rights groups which say that broadening federal laws are necessary to address a rise in crimes motivated by hate and based upon a person's sexual orientation or gender identity.

The military bill was "the last clear chance this year for Congress to make a meaningful effort to stop hate crime violence," said Wade Henderson, president of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.

In a joint statement issued Thursday, Kennedy and Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., said they were disappointed the House refused to attempt a vote on the legislative package, even if it would have failed. Levin, chairman of the Armed Services Committee, oversees the defense bill.

"At a time when our ideals are under attack by terrorists in other lands, it is more important than ever to demonstrate that we practice what we preach, and that we are doing all we can to root out the bigotry and prejudice in our own country that leads to similar violence here at home," the senators said.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said she was "strongly committed" to the bill and will continue to work to send it to President Bush. But, she added, "it is clear that attaching the language to the (Defense Department) authorization bill would not create a successful outcome in the House."

Under current federal law, hate crimes include acts of violence against individuals on the basis of race, religion, color or national origin. Federal prosecutors have jurisdiction only if the victim is engaged in a specific federally protected activity such as voting.

Kennedy's bill would have extended the category to include sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or disability. It also would give federal authorities greater leeway to participate in hate crime investigations, and allow them to step in if local authorities were unwilling or unable to act.

The measure would have provided $10 million over the next two years to help local law enforcement officials cover the cost of hate crime prosecutions.

The bill is named for Matthew Shepard, a gay college freshman who died after he was beaten into a coma in 1998 in Laramie, Wyo.

The Senate voted 60-39 in September to attach the bill as amendment to the 2008 defense authorization bill. Nine Republicans broke ranks and sided with Democrats in support of the measure.

The House did not include similar provisions in its version of the defense bill, which it passed in May by a 397-27 vote.

While Democratic leaders said they supported the bill, the bundled package posed too high a hurdle. A substantial number of liberal House members routinely vote against the annual defense bill because of the billions it authorizes in combat operations and for programs such as missile defense.

At the same time, some conservative Democrats and Republicans said they would oppose the legislation if the hate crimes provisions were attached — either because they don't think hate crime laws should be changed or because they don't think the issue should be tied to a bill for the troops.

In a private meeting on Wednesday, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., and House Democratic Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., told Levin that if the Senate continued to insist on the hate crimes provisions, the defense legislation would fail.

Levin and other Senate Democratic leaders agreed to back down to allow the defense bill to move forward.

The White House called the Senate bill unnecessary, but stopped short of issuing a veto threat.

"State and local law enforcement agencies are effectively using their laws to the full extent they can," said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino in September.

House and Senate negotiators finalized the defense bill in a closed-door meeting on Thursday. The agreement puts the measure on track to be sent to the president's desk before lawmakers leave this month for their holiday break.

The end of Free Speech in America has arrived at our doorstep and more...

Senate Bill 1959 to Criminalize Thoughts, Blogs, Books and Free Speech Across America

    by Mike Adams

The end of Free Speech in America has arrived at our doorstep. It's a new law called the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, and it is worded in a clever way that could allow the U.S. government to arrest and incarcerate any individual who speaks out against the Bush Administration, the war on Iraq, the Department of Homeland Security or any government agency (including the FDA). The law has already passed the House on a traitorous vote of 405 to 6, and it is now being considered in the Senate where a vote is imminent. All over the internet, intelligent people who care about freedom are speaking out against this extremely dangerous law: Philip Giraldi at the Huffington Post, Declan McCullagh at CNET's News.com, Kathryn Smith at OpEdNews.com, and of course Alex Jones at PrisonPlanet.com

This bill is the beginning of the end of Free Speech in America. If it passes, all the information sources you know and trust could be shut down and their authors imprisoned. NewsTarget could be taken offline and I could be arrested as a "terrorist." Jeff Rense at www.Rense.com could be labeled a "terrorist" and arrested. Byron Richards, Len Horowitz, Paul Craig Roberts, Greg Palast, Ron Paul and even Al Gore could all be arrested, silenced and incarcerated. This is not an exaggeration. It is a literal reading of the law, which you can check yourself here: http://thomas.loc.gov/home/gpoxmlc110/h1955_rfs.xml

    The bill states:

‘...ideologically based violence’ means the use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual’s political, religious, or social beliefs...

Note that this means the "planned use of force to promote a political or social belief" would be considered an act of terrorism. This all hinges on the definition of "force," of course. Based on the loose use of logic in Washington these days, and the slippery interpretation of the meaning of words, "force" could mean:

    • A grassroots campaign to barrage Congress with faxes
    • A non-violent street protest
    • A letter-writing campaign that deluges the Senate with too much mail
    • A sit-in protest that blocks access to a business or organization
    • A grassroots e-mail campaign that overloads the e-mail servers of any government department or agency

You get the idea. "Force" could be defined as practically anything. And since the "planned use of force" would be considered a criminal act of terrorism, anyone who simply thinks about a grassroots action campaign would be engaged in terrorist acts.

If you stopped someone on the street and handed them a Bible, for example, this could be considered an act of terrorism ("...use of force to promote the individual's religious beliefs...")

If you sent a barrage of angry letters to Washington about global warming and the destruction of the environment by the U.S. military, this could also be considered an act of terrorism ("...to promote the individual's political beliefs...")

If you believe in same-sex marriage and you wrote a letter threatening a sit-in protest in front of your state's capitol building, this could also be considered an act of terrorism, even if you never carried it out! ("...planned use of force to promote a social belief...")

The United States is on the fast track to fascism, and the Congress is working right alongside this nation's traitorous leaders to criminalize any thoughts, words or speeches that disagree with current government policies regarding war, terrorism, domestic surveillance and civil liberties. Simply speaking out against the war on Iraq could soon be labeled a crime. Merely thinking thoughts against the war on Iraq could be considered a criminal act.

Must-see video: Naomi Wolf's lecture on 10 steps to fascism

There's a video lecture you simply MUST watch. It's by Naomi Wolf, author of The End of America. She covers this topic with great elegance and a deep understanding of history. See her video on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjALf12PAWc

Click here to see her book on Amazon.com.

In her lecture and book, Naomi reveals the ten steps to fascist, then reveals how the United States of America is pursuing all ten! This S.1959 legislation, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, represents one of the ten steps to achieve a fascist state!

It is designed to squash all opposition to the State's ongoing march towards blatant fascism, where secret police and secret prisons dominate the law enforcement landscape, stripping U.S. citizens of all civil liberties and Constitutional protections.

Thoughtcrimes are about to become a reality in the United States of America, and Congress is pushing this through as quickly as possible so that each individual member of Congress can claim that he or she is "against terrorism." But this bill doesn't merely target terrorism: It targets anyone who speaks or even thinks thoughts against the U.S. federal government.

With this bill, the U.S. government is officially labeling the People of the United States as criminals. It is drawing a line in the sand and stating that from now on, it's the Government vs. the People.

If we don't stop this bill from becoming law, we are lost as a nation.

There is no turning back from tyranny once the government turns its own citizens into criminals, enforcing only the thoughts, ideas, words and speeches that it approves or tolerates. Everything is at stake here!

Take action now, or lose your freedoms forever

If you live in the U.S., it is urgent that you call your senators right now and voice your strong opposition against this extremely dangerous law.

Here are the phone numbers for the U.S. Senate switchboard:

    1-877-851-6437
    1-800-833-6354
    1-888-355-3588
    1-866-220-0044
    1-866-808-0065
    1-877-762-8762
    1-866-340-9281
    1-800-862-5530

    How to do this:

    1) Make sure you know the names of your Senators.
    2) Call the U.S. Senate switchboard using one of the numbers above.
    3) Ask to speak to the offices of your Senators.
    4) Tell them you are strongly opposed to S. 1959, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act
    5) Ask for their fax number.
    6) Follow up your phone call with a written, signed letter that you fax to your Senators.

Stopping this bill from becoming law is the single most important thing all Americans can do right now. If this becomes law, all free speech about health freedom, the crimes of the FDA, the crimes of the Bush Administration, America's role in global warming and any other topics could all be criminalized. YOU could be labeled a terrorist, kidnapped by government thugs, taken from your home, thrown in a secret prison, denied access to legal representation, denied due process and essentially "disappeared" into a system of such corruption and evil that it now begins to blatantly mirror Nazi Germany.

Think it couldn't happen here? It's happening right now! This is exactly how it happened in Nazi Germany. First, burn the Reichstag and blame it on the "enemy." Pass new police state laws. Disarm the people. Spread fear. Erect secret prisons and secret police. Call anyone who disagrees with you a "traitor." Control the mainstream media. Sound familiar? This is all happening right now in the United States of Amerika, and if we don't work to stop it, this nation will rapidly devolve into a fascist police state where no one is truly free.

We are but a few small steps away from it right now. All it would take is one dirty bomb in a major U.S. city. Bush would declare Martial Law and take over the National Guard. Troops on the streets. Anyone who writes a blog against the government would be arrested. Authors of "alternative" books would be kidnapped and have their books burned on the street. It could all happen at the stroke of a pen. The infrastructure for tyranny is in place right now, just waiting to be invoked.

Our best weapons: Non-violent protest and speaking the truth

How can we fight back against this onslaught of tyranny? We must use what remaining free speech freedoms we have right now to alert our fellow citizens to what's happening. We must rise up and tell the truth while urging our representatives in Washington to resist the temptation to vote for more "anti-terrorism" legislation that only works to enslave the American people.

We must use our phones, faxes, emails and blogs to rally our friends, family members and anyone who will listen to oppose these police state laws, and we must organize mass (peaceful) protests against this government that is attempting to marginalize the rights and freedoms of our People.

We must not be lulled into a sense of false security by the purveyors of hatred and fear -- the Sean Hannitys, Rush Limbaughs and Bill O'Reillys of the world. Instead, we must listen to the voices of freedom. In terms of the upcoming election for U.S. President, there is only one candidate that actually believes in freedom: Ron Paul. He needs your support to win: www.RonPaul2008.com

All the other candidates are nothing more than tyrants of different political affiliations. Ron Paul is the only candidate that truly understands the fundamentals of freedom. That's why he's the only real choice for our next President. Can you imagine what Hillary Clinton would do with the police state powers that Bush has now created? That's the danger of all laws that centralize power in Washington: It's not necessarily what today's President will do with them, but what some future President will do with them.

That's why it's never good enough to say, "Well, we intend to only apply these laws to terrorists and not to U.S. citizens at home." That may be the intention right NOW, but virtually all such laws creep into areas of enforcement for which they were never intended. Just look at the application of RICO laws which were originally designed to fight organized crime operations but are now applied to virtually anyone (and yet they are never applied to Big Pharma, which operates almost exactly like organized crime!). All these anti-terrorism laws run the danger of expanding in enforcement to the point where they are applied against the People of this country. At first, it's only illegal for "terrorists" to think thought crimes, but before long, it's illegal for anyone to think those same thoughts. That when the domestic arrests of authors, journalists, bloggers and thought leaders will kick off, and the country will plunge itself into outright tyrannical fascism.

Again, we're on the track right now. This is happening, folks. You're LIVING through an amazing chapter of history right now. You're actually witnessing the downfall of a free nation and the rise of a superpower fascist state. You're actually part of it.

When it's all over, will you look back and realize you did nothing? Or will you now take a stand against tyranny and oppose these dangerous laws and lawmakers who threaten the Constitutional freedoms of you and your children?

Big Brother may ban smoking in your house - what's next?

    Dear Friend,

By now, smoking has been banned nearly everywhere: in bars, in restaurants, in offices, in movies, on planes, and - this one always gets me - at outdoor stadiums. The only place it's still OK to smoke is in the privacy of your own home, right?

    Wrong.

There's a growing movement by the anti-smoking fascists throughout the country to create a smoke-free housing law. This law would ban smoking in multi-unit residences like apartment buildings and condominiums. That tug you feel is anti-smoking lobby trying to pull away another of your personal freedoms.

I'm not a believer in smoking bans. And as a believer in personal freedom, I'll also be the first one to hand you a match if you want to light up.

I've pointed out time and again that smoking is not the primary cause of lung cancer. And yet, this myth persists. And the anti-smoking lobby is using it to further their cause.

If the road to hell is paved with good intentions, the smoking ban provides several hundred miles of blacktop. Why? Because wholesale government bans enacted under the guise of the "greater good" are always, always about the restriction of personal freedoms. (Did you know that Hitler was the original mastermind behind government regulated smoking bans? It's an interesting little story, and I'll tell you about in the December issue of The Douglass Report .)

As I was saying…Smoking bans are the first step on a slippery slope toward the obliteration of our individual rights. The simpletons in Congress and the Senate are often more concerned with celebrating our rights than protecting them. The smoke-free lobby seems to neither realize nor care that such a ban is discriminatory and, therefore, unconstitutional.

Thankfully, there are some smart people other than myself who are speaking out against this ban. Many real estate companies are pointing out that this so-called "health concern" is about to take a big swipe at the sanctity of one of the most fundamental American rights: private property.

Don't let all this smoke cloud an issue that's crystal clear. When the government comes to your door and says they want to pass a ban to protect you - and your children - slam the door in their face. Whether you light up after you slam that door is up to you. And that's exactly how it should be.

I was right again: The FDA can't protect you

Here's an item that highlights the hypocrisy of the FDA that I've been speaking out against for so long.

In October, a witness told a Congressional subcommittee that the FDA cannot guarantee the safety of the nation's drug supply. And it's no wonder: Materials from foreign drug manufacturers (ones that, no doubt, aren't exactly "quality assured") make up as much as 80 PERCENT of all the ingredients used by U.S. drug makers. And the FDA freely admitted that most of those materials don't even get a first glance (much less a second one) by inspectors.

So the high-and-mighty, regulation-and-red-tape-happy FDA can't protect us after all. Big shock.

In fact, the few inspections the FDA does conduct at overseas drug plants are even less thorough than the so-called inspections that the agency conducts in the States. While the FDA is supposed to inspect domestic drug makers every two years, incredibly, there's NO SUCH requirement for foreign drug suppliers.

This is part and parcel of the FDA's eagerness to push new drugs hurriedly through the approval process (naturally with a helpful goose from the wealthy and all-powerful pharmaceutical lobby) - anything to speed the process along in the interest of making a buck. Saving lives? Protecting the consumer? Well, that's a few numbers down on the agenda.

Does this make sense? Of course not.

And yet, hardly a week seems to pass without the discovery of some hidden toxin from a Chinese manufacturer. Whether it's lead paint used in children's toys or cut-rate toothpaste with diethyleme glycol (a poison that's used in antifreeze), it's just a matter of dumb luck that no one here in the States has died.

    Keeping my fingers crossed,

    William Campbell Douglass II, M.D.

    Smoking-ban bills flame out
    Wednesday, December 05, 2007

    BY CHARLES THOMPSON
    Of The Patriot-News

Raela Stabile works the day shift at Molly Brannigans in Harrisburg for one reason: she despises cigarette smoke.

"It's not half as much smoke [as the night], so I can handle it," the nonsmoker said in the pub's smoking section. "I hate cigarette smoke."

She looks forward to the day when a proposed indoor smoking ban becomes the law of the land, and hopes it will include bars and restaurants.

But top legislative leaders have all but conceded this week that if Pennsylvania is to join the ranks of states with comprehensive indoor smoking bans, it won't be in 2007, as lawmakers had predicted.

"It's probably something that's going to be worked on as we continue into next year," Senate President Pro Tempore Joseph Scarnati, R-Jefferson County, said Tuesday.

Opponents of a comprehensive ban -- led by the tobacco, casino and tavern lobbies -- appear to have successfully run out the clock on getting any bill to Gov. Ed Rendell's desk this year. Rendell left little doubt Tuesday that he considers that a failure.

"I have ceased to quantify my frustration level, because if I did so on a daily basis, it'd be the only thing I do," Rendell said about inaction on the smoking ban, one of his top health care priorities. "I have decided to just say I am continually frustrated."

An independent poll by Quinnipiac University last month showed that 62 percent of respondents favored a ban on smoking in bars, restaurants and public buildings. The poll of 1,019 respondents had a margin of error of 4 percentage points.

The House and Senate passed competing versions of a smoking ban last summer.

The House bill would ban all smoking in Pennsylvania's casinos, restaurants and taverns but allow exceptions for private clubs such as American Legion halls or Moose lodges and tobacco-related businesses.

The Senate bill would allow slot-machine parlors to maintain smoking areas, which operators of casinos near the state's borders say is essential for competitive reasons. It would exempt some smaller bars and restaurants as well as the private clubs.

Another unresolved issue is whether municipalities will be permitted to adopt even more stringent local smoking ordinances. The House bill allows that; the Senate plan does not.

The two chambers must hammer out a compromise version of a bill to present to the governor's desk.

Until this week, House and Senate leaders hadn't even named appointees to a conference committee to resolve those differences.

That will change today, when Scarnati, R-Jefferson County, names three senators to the smoking ban panel. State House Speaker Dennis O'Brien, R-Philadelphia, will follow suit in the "near future," his spokesman said Tuesday.

This fall's inaction has incensed anti-smoking advocates such as Bill Godshall, executive director of SmokeFree Pennsylvania.

"It's very frustrating, because I think the legislative leadership is just totally out of touch with the public. ... The caucus have been dragging their feet and the only beneficiaries have been the cigarette companies."

Other lobbyists on the issue, commenting only on condition that they not be identified, speculated that some of the leaders are worried about the effect a newly enacted ban could have at the polls in 2008. Some speculate that angry smokers would take it out on incumbents.

In addition, the House Democrat and Republican leaders, Reps. H. William DeWeese, D-Greene, and Sam Smith, R-Jefferson, voted against the House bill in July.

Scarnati conceded Tuesday that the bill has languished this fall. But he contended that it has more to do with the press of other business and shifting Rendell administration priorities than anything else.

"We've been consumed with things that obviously have been on the governor's hit list, like energy and health care," said Scarnati, who voted for the Senate ban bill this summer.

Sen. Stewart Greenleaf, R-Montgomery County, who sponsored his first indoor smoking ban bill in 1996, finds room for optimism. With conferees named, he suspects the bill will gain momentum.

"It's going to happen," Greenleaf said. "You have to be patient with this. ... If it's a few weeks or a couple of months, this is a short time as far as I'm concerned."

Senate vote on hate crimes bill expected on Thursday

This just in: the Senate will vote on the Matthew
    Shepard Act TOMORROW.

We've worked for years to get this bill through both houses of
Congress, and we're finally incredibly close.

Now that Senate action is imminent, anti-GLBT groups are
activating their misinformed grassroots base once again.

Remember, they've convinced thousands that this bill
will muzzle preachers and send pastors to jail for reading certain parts of the
    Bible.
If we don't call right now, critical votes
COULD BE LOST to these scare tactics.

CALL BOTH YOUR SENATORS RIGHT NOW:

Both Sen. Casey and Sen. Specter are already signed on as co-sponsors of the

    Matthew Shepard Act.
You're calling to thank them for their support and encourage them to stand
strong, regardless of last minute right-wing efforts leading up to the vote.

(The information below pertains to Pennsylvania) otherwise see http://www.hrc.org/your_community/your_elected_officials.asp for your local officials

    1. For Sen. Casey, call

      (202) 224-6324
      .

      Then, for Sen. Specter, call

      (202) 224-4254
      .

    2. For each office, tell the
      staffer who answers:

"As a constituent, and a supporter of

      Human Rights Campaign
, I'd like to thank the Senator for supporting the
Matthew Shepard Act (S. 1105). I hope the Senator's support for this important
bill will stay strong until it comes up for a vote."

We cannot allow our Senators to be intimidated, misled, or
swayed by an extremist minority. Thank you for making your calls, and thank you
for being a voice of reason today.

BREAKING NEWS: Senate vote on hate crimes bill expected on Thursday

    September 25, 2007

    Chris Johnson

This afternoon, Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA), one of the lead sponsors of the

Senate hate crimes bill, took to the Senate floor to urge the Senate to pass the
hate crimes bill (S. 1105) and for President Bush to sign the legislation into
law. Earlier today, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) filed a cloture motion on the hate
crimes bill, a procedural move to overcome Senator McCain's objection to
bringing the amendment to the floor. Our side must achieve 60 votes on the
cloture motion to win; that vote is scheduled for Thursday. The Senate should
then move towards passages of the hate crimes bill as an amendment to the
    Department of Defense authorization bill.

Senator Kennedy's prepared statement on the Senate floor can be read  here.

KENNEDY ON THE MATTHEW SHEPARD ACT

    (As Prepared for Delivery)
    September 25, 2007
    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

I’d like to speak for a moment regarding the Hate Crimes Amendment -- at a time when our ideals are under
attack by terrorists in other lands, it is more important than ever to
demonstrate that we practice what we preach, and that we are doing all we can to
root out the bigotry and prejudice in our own country that leads to violence
here at home. Now more than ever, we need to act against hate crimes and send a
strong message here at home and around the world that we will not tolerate
    crimes fueled by hate.

Since the September 11th attacks, we’ve seen a shameful increase in the number of hate crimes committed against Muslims, Sikhs, and Americans of Middle Eastern descent. Congress has done much
to respond to the vicious attacks of September 11th. We’re doing all that we
can to strengthen our defenses against hate that comes from abroad. We’ve
spent billions of dollars in the War on Terrorism to ensure that international
terrorist organizations such as al’ Qaeda are not able to carry out attacks
within the United States. There is no reason why Congress should not act to
strengthen our defenses against hate that occurs here at home.

In Iraq and Afghanistan, our soldiers are fighting for freedom and liberty -- they are on the front line
fighting against evil and hate. We owe it to our troops to uphold those same
    principles here at home.

Hate crimes are a form of domestic terrorism. They send the poisonous message that some Americans deserve
to be victimized solely because of who they are. Like other acts of terrorism,
hate crimes have an impact far greater than the impact on the individual
victims. They are crimes against entire communities, against the whole nation,
and against the fundamental ideals on which America was founded. They are a
violation of all our country stands for.

We’re united in our effort to root out the cells of hatred around the world. We should not turn a blind eye
to acts of hatred and terrorism here at home. We should not shrink now from our
role as the beacon of liberty to the rest of the world. The national interest
in condemning bias-motivated violence in the United States is strong, and so is
our interest in condemning bias-motivated violence occurring world-wide. When
the Senate approves this amendment, we will send a message about freedom and
equality that will resonate around the world.

Mr. President, hate crimes violate everything our country stands for. They send the poisonous message that
some Americans deserve to be victimized solely because of who they are. These
are crimes committed against entire communities, against the nation as a whole
and the very ideals on which our country was founded.

The time has come to stand up for the victims of these senseless acts of violence – victims like Matthew Shepard,
for whom this bill is named, and who died a horrible death in 1998 at the hands
of two men who singled him out because of his sexual orientation. Nine years
after Matthew’s death – nine years – we still haven’t gotten it done. How long
    are we going to wait?

Senator Smith and I urge your support of this bipartisan bill. The House has come through on their side and
passed the bill. Now it’s time for the Senate to do the same. This year, we
can get it done. We came close twice before. In 2000 and 2002, a majority of
Senators voted to pass this legislation. In 2004, we had 65 votes for the bill
and it was adopted as part of the Defense Authorization Bill. But – that time -
it was stripped out in conference.

The President has threatened to veto this legislation, but
we can’t let that threat stop us from doing the right thing. Let’s display the
same kind of courage that came from David Ritcheson, a victim of a brutal hate
crime that scarred him both physically and emotionally. This spring, David
testified before the House Judiciary Committee. He courageously described the
horrific attack against him the year before -- after what had been an enjoyable
evening with other high school students near his home in Spring, Texas.

Later in the evening however, two persons attacked him and one attempted to carve a swastika into his chest. He
was viciously beaten and burned with cigarettes, while his attackers screamed
terrible epithets at him. He lay unconscious on the ground for 9 hours, and
remained in a coma for several weeks. After a very difficult recovery, David
became a courageous and determined advocate. Tragically, though, this
life-changing experience exacted its toll on David and recently, he took his own
life. He had tried so hard to look forward, but he was still haunted by this brutal experience.

My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to David’s family and friends coping with this tragic loss.
David’s death shows us that these crimes have a profound psychological impact.
We must do all we can to let victims know they are not to blame for this
brutality, that their lives are equally valued. We can’t wait any longer to act.

Our amendment is supported by a broad coalition of 210 law enforcement, civic, disability, religious and civil
rights groups, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the
Anti-Defamation League, the Interfaith Alliance, the National Sheriff’s
Association, the Human Rights Campaign, the National District Attorneys
Association and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights. All these diverse
groups have come together to say now is the time for us to take action to
protect our fellow citizens from the brutality of hate-motivated violence. They
support this legislation, because they know it is a balanced and sensible
approach that will bring greater protection to our citizens along with much
needed resources to improve local and state law enforcement.

Our bill corrects two major deficiencies in current law. Excessive restrictions require proof that victims
were attacked because they were engaged in certain “federally protected
activities.” And the scope of the law is limited, covering hate crimes based on
race, religion, or ethnic background alone.

The federally protected activity requirement is outdated, unwise and unnecessary, particularly when we consider
the unjust outcomes of this requirement. Hate crimes now occur in a variety of
circumstances, and citizens are often targeted during routine activities that
should be protected. All victims should be protected – and it’s simply wrong
that a hate crime – like the one against David Ritcheson – can’t be prosecuted
federally because it happened in a private home.

The bill also recognizes that some hate crimes are committed against people because of their sexual
orientation, their gender, their gender identity, or their disability. Passing
this bill will send a loud and clear message. All hate crimes will face federal
prosecution. Action is long overdue. There are too many stories and too many victims.

We must do all we can to end these senseless crimes, and I urge my colleagues to support cloture on this
amendment and to support its passage as an amendment to the DOD authorization bill.

I so hate this town, Today Alanna and I went to the Eagles post, and got called Transvestites, it seems to be a favorite local word around here for transsexuals...
which if the idiots even knew what they were talking about they would know ....
TRANSVESTITE (AKA CROSSDRESSER): Original term for 'Cross-
dresser'. Now occasionally used to speak of Drag Kings/Queens. This
person is often homosexual and Crossdresses more-or-less often.
Crossdressing is often done in a flamboyant manner, usually for
entertainment or other public purposes. See: Drag King/Queen

    compared to :
INTERSEXUAL: Often called a 'Hermaphrodite', this person has
the physical, sexual manifestation, in whole or in part, of both sexes.
His/her understanding of his/her Gender may or may not agree with
his/her predominate physical, sexual genitalia display.
ANDROGYNE: This person may or may not be an Hermaphro-
dite. He/she chooses either to display no discernible masculine or
feminine traits or to display a mix of both. His/her self-identified
Gender may be completely neutral or embrace both.
    TRANSSEXUAL, NON-OPERATIVE (AKA:TRANSGENDERIST): This
usually heterosexual person, sees him/herself as a member of the
opposite sex, may or may not take the hormones of that sex and may
live fully or almost fully as a member of that sex. Like all Transsexu-
als, wearing the clothing of the opposite sex merely serves as an aid,
to help the person proclaim his/her self-identified, true Gender.
The Non-Operative Transsexual may desire Sexual Reassign-
ment Surgery but for any of a number of reasons cannot have it.
Reasons could include: Health, finances and personal preference.
TRANSSEXUAL, PRE- OR POST-OPERATIVE: Persons in these
last two categories see themselves as a members of the opposite sex,
take hormones and live as as members of that sex. They are either
preparing to have or have had Sexual Reassignment Surgery.

As some of you know I have also had problems with a so called friend who isn't anymore named Bonnie Sue Vasbinder/Gilbreath. She sent me some e-mails that were very insulting and even a few that were threating... in one of them she states
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Date: Sun, 19 Aug 2007 10:05:45 -0700 (PDT)
    From: "Bonnie Vasbinder" <dreammaker20082010@yahoo.com>
Subject: Re: Being Transsexual is not a choice!!!!
    To: "Joanne Lynn Benjamin" <garfield25_tg@yahoo.com>

Joanne, you were born a male and when you reached adulthood you decided to be female so it was your choice to suck cock so therefore you are not transsexual you are flat out plain guy.

... You have a damn cock Joanne and fake breast that you had to take medication to grow. As far as my next Victim, since I can use mental insanity in my defense, and even get away with it in the courts,

    better watch your back!!!

So now say I won't be blunt bitch. fuck you

Being transsexual was your choice because god made you a total man and for your damn information it's not me that is always talking bad about you it is Shawn but like I told Alanna, he will lie to your face about calling you all sorts of bad thing and he more than like will blame his name calling on me so you're the one who started this shit with me all because you don't believe a damn thing and I don't want nothing to do with you or Shawn because you're both fucking crazy and assholes stay away from me and I'll definitely staying away from you even if it means losing Alanna as my friend. good-bye

    update
I figured it was time to update my journal and fill in some missing info ...

Well Alanna and I are now in Kane,Pa after the ordeal in New Kensington , having our house broken into ,being beat, raped and etc.

Although I don't know if I will ever like it here after all this is like revisiting the past from 3 years ago when I was with Julie and starting my full time transition, alot of times it feels like the past here is haunting and sometimes cloudy, if you know what I mean.

However it seems we were lead here by The Great Spirit & the Goddess to finish my training as a healer and who knows, All we know is after we left New Kensington and stayed with a old friend and a ex of mine doors open up for us to move here..

We didn't have hardly any money while staying with Chuck but Alanna told me to call my old landlord here in Kane, well I did and it just so happened there was an apartment open and he let us move in without money upfront and was willing to work with us when we got paid, so we moved in two months ago.

I like to smudge any place I move to but was out of Sage so Alanna went to
    That Natural Store
    39 Fraley St
    Kane, PA 16735
    thatnaturalstore.net

and they had my sage stick -yea

Well as of to date: Alanna got me a computer however we only have dial up at this time so it takes forever to get things done...
We have two kittens Dash and Dot -Dot so named because of his spots and in reference to that tv commercial "Are you agitating my dots?"

Recently I have felt I am a prisoner in my own apt since Terry in apt 12 keeps has been a busy beaver when it comes to mine and Alanna's house... tells us to turn down the tv when it isn't that loud although his drug suppler in apt 10 Mark Aleen has his stereo way up to where it can be heard in the whole complex.. Hes been trying to get in mine and Alanna's pants since we moved in as well as buy drugs from him and of course we have said "NO!!" a couple of times, so now we feel hes just being a pest about everything we do..

So I am not a happy camper at this time and it seems intensified due to me being in pain with a headache, body aches, and being that time of the month ...

However I love going to That Natural Store when I have a question about a herb or etc and they are very helpful, cant wait till they get their hydroponics supples in than I can go back to growing my own sage, belladonna ,st johns wort, wormwood and etc.

On Dec. 11, Julie, came into the living room, where I was lying on the floor.
Julie got down beside me, on her knee, looked into my eyes, and said,
“I love you, will you marry me someday?"
    I was speechless at first,
and then I said,” Are you sure?"
    Julie said, "I wouldn't ask if I wasn't, would I?"
I then said, "Yes I will marry you someday."
